course overview
SDS in partnership with the PROMPT Maternity Foundation are providing the Pre-Hospital PROMPT Maternity Emergencies Training.
This program is designed primarily for paramedics (including student paramedics) and ambulance staff. However, allied health care professionals working in Emergency Departments, and community and midwifery-led birth centre settings may also benefit from this program.
The program provides emergency algorithms and information on managing pre-hospital maternity emergencies, delivered by midwives, obstetricians, and paramedics. Clinical staff involved in pre-hospital maternity emergencies may be called to a wide range of maternity conditions and circumstances, including pre-birth, birth or post-birth problems that may affect only the mother, or both the mother and her baby (unborn or newborn).
The PROMPT Maternity Foundation (PMF) is a multi-professional group of obstetricians, gynaecologists, midwives and anaesthetists. PMF is a company limited by guarantee (Company Number 7506593) and is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission for England & Wales (Charity Number 1140557).
